OCTANE TUTORIAL - CAR RENDERS

Nissan GTR Octane Tutorial

This tutorial is made up of 4 and a half hours of training taking you through my entire process of creating a photo realistic automotive render. The tutorial is divided into 6 seperate segments to make the tutorial undestandable and a relaxing pace.

  • Each part has a project file in conjunction so you can start the tutorial where you please especially if you are using a different vehicle model.

  • The Incremental project files are included with each segment to allow drop in access to what I am doing and the ability to skip segments.

  • 4 and a half hours of educational content

  • The process of keeping the scene neat, texturing, lighting and composing the scene as well as art directing it to final render

  • Grading in After Effetcs

FAQS'

  • Will this work with my current version of C4D?

Most scenes in Cinema4D are backwards compatible. I tend to jump between versions due to plugins being more optimized in some versions compared to others (cough cough X-Particles). If I make a scene in R26 you can most definitely open it in R20 and other versions.

  • Does my version of Octane Matter?

Yes. This is much more important than the version of C4D you are using. I think anything past Octane 4 or 2020 should be fine. Although the occasional material type or node may be missing across the scenes. But it won't be a deal breaker. (Except for my Noise displacement scenes due to Octane 2020/21 breaking default C4D noise with Octane displacement).

  • Are the packs and files on here Royalty Free?

Yes. Everything I produce on the store is Royalty Free. (Maybe just don't download my scenes, open it, render it out and say you made it... lol) As for re distrubuting any assets yes feel free.

  • What software do I need?

I work in Cinema 4D and Octane. Although some files will require plugins such as X-Particles or Forester. (Although even with the Forester scenes I have editable versions of the assets in the scene so you don't need the plugin. You just won't have as much control over the scene.
