Decoys Decoys Decoys

Have you ever seen a fake designer item? Let’s say a Gucci leather belt, if you have you probably know why they are so expensive. The leather is hard core and it lasts a lifetime (well longer than most belts). But have you seen the fake imitation Gucci belts? They look at least 90% legit. From afar you can even mistake them for a real one, the logos are slightly different, but to the untrained eye they all look the same. In some cases, the manufacturers of the fake one even get fake leather that looks sturdy and deceiving. Nevertheless, the trained eye will spot the fake, if not by touching it they will be able to identify it.
Now that you have this imagine in your head, I can talk about decoys, in our case the spiritual decoy. Well what is a decoy you may ask? The word decoy, also originally found in English as "coy", derives from the Dutch de Kooi (the cage). “A decoy is usually a person, device, or event meant as a distraction, to conceal what an individual or a group might be looking for. Decoys have been used for centuries most notably in game hunting, but also in wartime and in the committing or resolving of crimes”.
