From the back cover: “The ukulele is often called a happy little instrument so it is always exciting to receive a score which explores and exposes the darker, more plaintive tones of the ukulele. Utilising a guitar style four note tremolo the subtle interplay of consonance and dissonance evokes a mood of restless searching. The tremolo idea is interspersed with wistful campanella (little bell) style melodies with the notes moving across the strings to bring out the full resonance of the instrument. [...] There are some technical challenges (mostly in regard the tremolo) but the main focus is on the expressive nature of the music which offers a wide range of tonal and dynamic possibilities.
