The first question that comes to mind in this scenario is; what type of data was collected and how was it collected throughout the semester to determine how many hours between 0-7 per week the teachers spends in a collaborative teaching communities. If this was done by observation or interviews then it would constitute a qualitative inquiry. And with the test scores offered from the students’ pre-test and post -test, I believe this study would benefit from a mixed method methodology. Using group comparison as the approach to analyze this data could be used much like Machera (2017) did when he used comparisons between quantitative content analysis, focus group and face-to-face interviews to determine the truth from the participants. However, in this study the question is not the truth of the participants but more so the correlation between the days the teachers spend in a collaborative teaching community and the learning achieved due to this. Therefore, I do not think that the group comparison is the best approach to analyze this data but rather the correlational analysis. The number of collaboration days for each teacher can be measured in a correlational analysis using student test scores instead of group comparison (G.C.U, 2013).
