Crate Digger's Paradise (sample pack)
With Bassadelic's Crate Digger's Paradise you get two distinct sample packages:
SIDE A.. The Crates (Crunchy & Vintage Vinyl Funk Samples)...
& SIDE B.. After the Crates (Modern & Funky Underground Hip Hop)...
Who’s it for? Electronic / hip hop producers who AREN’T messing around, and want a serious amount of authentic retro vinyl-gold in their breakbeat/funk/hip hop arsenal NOW. If you’re into Flying Lotus, Teebs, J Dilla, George Clinton; or ANY of the middle-ground that exists between funk, hip hop, and wonky, then THIS is something you’ll likely regret not looking into some more.
Basically, you get a virtual but thorough experience of diggin through the crates – first, a pack authentic and ready-to-go vintage funk weapons; NEXT, you get a modern-day hip hop-centered re-envisioning of what those funk-weapons might be used for.. So you’re getting two packages in one…
Here’s what’s on SIDE A: (or, the first folder) As a crate-digger, you have to be tireless in your never-ending quest to find vintage vinyl gold that no one else has. You have to have trained ears, and know what sounds right.
With this package, you get a digital version of the crate-digging experience, as you get a sample package with a ton of samples that REALLY DO sound as though they were cut from CLASSIC funk trax from back in the day, influenced by everyone in the 1970s funk game, from George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic to Sly & The Family Stone .. (a bunch of delicious breakbeats, instrumental improvisations, melodic riffs of instruments that would have been used back in the day, as well as retro synthesized loops that could be employed to recreate the time when funk music got turned on to the electro-funk side of things. It’s funk, it’s funky, it’s got a hell of a lot of soul, and it’s PERFECT for cutting up to make authentic modern-day sample-based music (but with this package, you don’t have to worry about paying royalties to the artists your sampling, because these samples are ALL completely original and royalty-free!)
Here’s what’s on SIDE B: After a well-trained crate-digger has amassed a steady collection of gold, they take it home, listen to it for hours upon hours, and then they cut out the best chunks. Well, this whole package is about having the best chunks ready to go… With Side B you get a bunch of rhythmic weapons designed for Dilla-style and Detroit-style hip hop production… You get a hell of a lot of snares, claps, snaps, kicks, drum loops, as well as some bass one-shots, too!! Some of them are cut from the first sample pack, but the majority of them exist on their own, new and original. They really do sound as authentic as possible, and there is actually nothing on the market quite like this; this “two-sided vinyl-esque” sample package is as singular and special as possible, and it delivers. And instead of paying $40 for one, you get them both at once for WAY cheaper.
Can we have a rundown of what’s in this? A track-listing?

SIDENOTE/RANT ABOUT THIS SAMPLE PACK (& OTHERS): Don’t be fooled by the price – I’m not charging less because I don’t think this set of samples isn’t worth much – I’m not charging a metric ton because I simply have no reason to gauge anyone. And, well… that’s it. I’ve seen some well-known sample pack companies charging HUNDREDS for their samples – hoping that the customers are naive and might think, “Wow, HUNDREDS? It must be great!” Don’t fall for that hype. Please. You’re wasting your money. At very least, if you don’t buy this sample package from me, that’s OK – but PLEASE don’t waste your hard-earned HUNDREDS on some “ultra-comprehensive” (but super generic) nonsense EDM sample pack that’s really only going to disappoint. I mean, think about it for a second: how many tracks/albums are you going to have to sell JUST to break even on something that cost you weeks (or months) of salary? ….Just saying…

William Dunn (the audio engineer who also produces electronic music under the monikers StrangeFlow and 5ifty$ix K) has provided this incredible sample product, which contains 31 high-fidelity cymbal drum crash samples in .WAV format.
These samples are, in many cases, layered, and some of them boast incredibly long sustains, to help fill in sound gaps in music production. Samples of this quality really speak for themselves, and when you hear them in your final mix, you'll hear the difference.
They each range in time from 11 seconds to almost 30 seconds in duration. They are rinsed and affected samples that were recorded, originally, from a variety of sound sources, including the TR 808; the TR 909; the TR 68 (an especially rare drum machine); the DMX 606; and more. They are unique in structure, and each have received a full range of hi-fi sound manipulations (including different forms of compression; and in some cases, minor phasing and slight frequency-shifting) to make them much more palatable and professional-sounding.
Basically, these cymbals have been designed to be as useful in mixing and music production as possible. If you're looking to give some real weight to a drop or breakdown in the middle of a song, these ultra-crisp crash cymbals will really help! You won't have to worry about whether or not your cymbal drums will be sound sufficiently thick and satisfying when you drop one of these into your next tune.
All of these samples are royalty-free, encoded in 16 bit, 44.100 hz .WAV format , and usable in any standard DAW component or software that allows for .WAV audio support.
You can use these samples in any production, both personal AND commercial. You can NOT, however, resell them as your own.
Question: Who is responsible for this filth?
Answer: Simteks and StrangeFlow, champions of music production
and music blogging!
We have teamed up, in this most-unholiest of sample
products, as this is a rebranding of the previously (and
perhaps unfortunately titled,'North Korean Neuro Bass Bombz
From Outer Space!'
Funny story.. We originally named this sample pack, thinking,
"Hey, this'll grab people's attention, and it's funny..,"
Well, about a month or so later, North Korea started
threatening the US, claiming they were going to soon be
capable of detonating weapons of mass destruction.
Sooo, we decided, "Ya know, maybe we should change the name..."
Anyway, in case you're wondering who Simteks and StrangeFlow are,
Simteks is known for his incredible music production website
(SimteksMusic.com) as well as for his high-powered bass-killing
electronic music - and for his skills in the field of audio
StrangeFlow is known for his funkified and forward-thinking
electronic music, as well as for his website (Bassadelic.com)
a blog for music producers.
The two teamed up to put these 'North Korean Neuro Bass Bombz'
(Oh, I mean 'Ultra Funky Neurostep' ... "bombz"...) into a
series of .WAV files, and these samples are ready to be
plugged into your DAW immediately, and shoot insane bass-fire
out onto your dancefloor!
It was our mission to capture a specific sound of modern
electronic music... something on the funkier and bass-heavy
side of neurostep music, including bass riffs and sustains with
massive oscillations, frequency changes, and overal sound
progressions typical to much of what is considered, "the neuro sound."
We have also taken great influence from many artists, including
KOAN Sound and Opiuo, just to name a couple. We have nothing
but props for these musicians, and for all musicians who
continue to push the boundaries and exptectations of music and
We have added a number of beats and drum samples, as well. All
the beats, as well as the bass loops and riffs, are in the 100
BPM to 106 BPM range, allowing the producer the ability to
create funky / neuro midtempo grooves as quickly as possible.
Though, it should be noted that you can, of course, speed up
the tempos when using these loops, if you want to, and that 100
to 106 BPM is merely the speed at which these sounds were
recorded at, and you will find that most of them sound best
when played closer to their original tempo (or faster).
In addition to everything else, a number of bass one-shots have
been added which are solid and easy to use in production.
have included some bonus material, as well, which is
mostly unrelated to the 'neuro' theme of this package, though
these extra samples can be used however you see fit.
These are all .WAV samples, and are compatible with all major
devices that allow for use of .WAV files.
There's nothing else quite like this sample pack out there, and
we really hope you enjoy these samples and find them useful!
