It enchances one's abiltity to defend and offend. It is the essence and soul of the bagua palm. Movements of Hou Tian Bagua 64 Palm are simple and clean, hardness with softness, and inter-changing. Each movement contains its particular defending and attacking meaning.
八卦子午鸳鸯钺所用器械是八卦门中专用器械。亦名日月乾坤剑、鹿角刀，后者以其形状命名。钺为双器，两只相同，分为雌雄、阴阳。左手为雌为阴，右手为雄为阳。顺时针走圈为阳门，逆时针走圈为阴门，共分八门，一门八招，共为六十四招。
