HSM 250 Week 6 DQ 1 and DQ 2

As a young child, I was raised by a mother who carried out almost all tasks and responsibilities because my father really wasn't around. Community and traditional Native American values were taught and lived by many within my immediate circle. Unfortunately, alcoholism, drug abuse, and physical abuse were the life my father chose to bring to our house. This is very common in reservation situations. Eventually, my mother divorced and remarried a man who did not want me in their "life plan," so I was placed into the foster care system. I was bounced from house to house...realize I did not say home...and never developed lasting relationships with these families. I was adopted into a male dominated household where my adoptive father worked and my mother raised the children
