Audience Analysis Paper
The key to any effective presentation is first in the preparation for the presentation. This includes but is not limited to the research and collection of data to be able to present real time information to ensure the flow of the preparation while keeping in mind the audience. In this current scenario the presentation includes presenting quarterly sales information at an in-person meeting to a group of stakeholders, including managers, salespeople, and customers. With this audience in mind it is important to consider the characteristics of each attending group, the appropriate communication channels, and the diversity amongst those attending to ensure the effectiveness of the presentation. According to Locker and Kienzler (2008), “Audience analysis gives you the tools you need to shape your product and your message.”(p. 41). Analyzing the audience is a huge part of any presentation and vital to the success of properly getting information across to those in attendance.
