Homicide Investigation (Lloyd Sword)

Headline reads:

Police have determined Lloyd Sword, 46, has met with foul play and North District RCMP's major crimes unit has taken over the investigation.

My connection to Lloyd:

Lloyd and his brother Mike were friends of mine going back to early high-school in Pitt Meadows BC. Lloyd and Mike were playing in bands while I was starting out in the music scene. Lloyd was a guitar player and Mike was a drummer at the time. Both guys I looked up to as a musician and as friends when I was starting my career.

Lloyd always stood up for me, stood up for people who were bullied.

As with most high-school friends, life moved the three of us apart. Lloyd moved away and lived in countless cities over the years, but only two places really captured his heart; Salem Oregon and Victoria BC. In 2002 Lloyd moved to Prince George where he spent his remaining years.

Over the past few years I have been back in touch with Mike where I have followed and learned of Lloyds disappearance.

My late father taught me to always remember where you come from, and those who influenced you to make you who you are today. Lloyd is without a doubt one of these people.

What the RCMP are asking:

RCMP are asking hunters and others who may be venturing out into the bush in the Prince George and surrounding areas to keep an eye out for evidence. Investigators have determined Sword, who was first reported missing in late August, 2017 was wearing a zip-up style black jacket, blue jeans, a dark grey T-shirt and running shoes.

"Time is of the essence as investigators believe that forensic evidence may exist in Sword's clothing that will identify the person or persons responsible for Mr. Sword's disappearance," RCMP said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP Detachment 250 561-3300 or Crime Stoppers 1 800 222-8477. Tips can also be provided online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca (English only), or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637) using keyword "pgtips".

What Mike & I are asking:

Mike and I are asking for donations to raise funds to offer a reward for information leading to Lloyds body and to an arrest. We all know that offering these types of rewards will increase the chance of getting someone to talk. So we ask you from the bottom of our hearts to donate, share and help us find closure.

For your donation I am giving away all 4 of my albums in digital format. These albums have garnered over 15 award nominations over the past few years, including a JUNO.

We ask for a minimum of $4 donation. That's one dollar per album and every penny of this will go to getting closure for Mike, myself, the Sword family and everyone else that cared for Lloyd.

Thanks, with love, from James 'Buddy' Rogers & Mike Sword.
