When it comes to being a leader, the most important factor is how effective the leader is at motivating a group while keeping them focused on the overall goal. To do this, a leader can take a few approaches that have been found to be effective, some based largely on the situation at hand, and others based on some predetermined set of personality traits required. Some theorists believe, as Baack (2012) states, that “…certain personality traits can predict the chances that an individual will be promoted to a leadership role” (The Big Five Personality Traits, para. 9).
