REVIEWS
The first volume of a new audiobook series of original short fiction showcases three Newfoundland writers, two of whom narrate their own stories. Janet Russell's reading of Carmelita McGrath's Revenants, about a couple who have witnessed a terrible car accident while trying to escape on a vacation, has the pace and tension of a good ghost story. The headliner, however, is Joel Hynes's reading of his own story, Say Nothing, Saw Wood, which is lyrically told in a voice that makes you believe he IS the protagonist, a juvenile offender who learns the truth about his father's identity.
