Leslie demonstrated effective teaching characteristics in this case study. Leslie went into the lesson with a plan and goals. She wanted to improve specific sections of the students writing and developed lessons that focused directly on this material. Leslie’s personal characteristics are apparent in the process of explaining why she wants to focus on this particular section of the students writing. She shows efficacy in answering and presenting material, she shows that these focused lessons are in response to the effort that the children have shown in their writing abilities, and she lays out her expectations before the lessons begin. Leslies teaching strategies were flawless in this study. She ensures the class started on time, she made created smooth transition between the essays and the assignments, and a smooth transition between each section of the lesson plan.
