Assignment 4 US Dept of Labor Case Study A

United States Department of Labor (DOL) was created in 1913 and is a regulatory agency that administers and enforces several federal laws to include Equal Pay Act of 1963, Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (FLSA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FLMA)(Ruddy, 2007, p. 643) and while these laws are being enforced it also promotes, protects workers’ rights.  In this case study, we will examine features of the DOL website and how each feature can be used to monitor employee benefit rights, review how employers verify employee benefits are in compliance with federal laws, how employees would use this information to ensure their benefits rights are protected and create an outline of the website that would orient others usefulness for regulatory compliance.
