PictoTalks: Diana Beltran Herrara

Diana Beltran Herrera studied at the Jorge Tadeo Lozan University in Bogota, Colombia with a degree in industrial design. In 2011 she moved to Helsinki to study ceramic sculpture at the Suomenkielinen School. She relocated to Bristol in 2013 and is currently pursuing her masters degree in fine art at the University of the West of England. Herrera’s work seeks to explore the chillingly disengaged relationship between humans and nature in modern society. Using paper as her primary medium she presents notions of temporality and change, emphasising the process of transformation that continuously occurs in nature and humankind alike. Notable projects include her ongoing series of vibrant handmade paper birds. She has exhibited in solo and group shows in Colombia and abroad, including Espacio ARTNEXUS Bogota, IAM8BIT Los Angeles, Beers Lambert Contemporary London, and Garaje Gallery in Bogota. This fall her first international solo exhibition is presented at Florida’s Cornell Fine Arts Museum. 34'18'', Stereo, 720p HD mov file (H.264), 477.4 MB
