Part 1: Accessing ToolWire® MedSpace®
Access ToolWire® MedSpace® using the link on your student materials section. MedSpace® works best when using Google Chrome web browser.
Select the Click Here to Start Lab Access link. The ToolWire® MedSpace® program will load after this selection.

 
Part 2: Practicing Facility Design in ToolWire® MedSpace®
1. Hover your cursor over Design Templates.

  • Select Ambulatory Care Clinic



2. Create a half wall similar to the illustration below.

  • Select the “draw wall by center line” or “draw wall by inner line” option in the top toolbar.




  • Add to the wall to the south exterior wall, and extend the wall until you have reached the length similar to the illustration. Left click on the wall you just drew, and right click to determine what side you want the wall to be on. Right click again to complete your wall.

3. Delete the door in the first room on the north side of the facility. Click on the door and select the trash can on the bottom toolbar.

4. Add a wall opening between the first two rooms on the north side of the facility that resembles the illustration.

5. Demolish wall in the room on the southeast side of the facility.

6. Change the floors to Mahogany Parquet. 

  • Click on the large area on the west side of the facility, and use the menu box on the left hand side to select Style. Select the Parquet menu and locate the Mahogany Parquet option. Hover your cursor over the picture of the Mahogany Parquet, and click on the plus sign that appears.

  • After you have selected the Mahogany Parquet, your floor plan will automatically go into 3-D view. Select the Full Screen (Tab) option in the box in the top right corner to exit the 3-D view.

7. Change the flooring in each room to Hazelnut Parquet. Again, use the menu box on the left hand side to select Style. Select the Parquet menu and locate the Hazelnut Parquet option. Hover your cursor over the picture of the Hazelnut Parquet, and click on the plus sign that appears.

 
8. Add the following items to your facility. Follow the facility pictured below.

  • Catalog à Furniture à 2- Art of Care Spanned Lobby Seating (northwest wall and west wall)

  • Catalog à Furniture à Art of Care Occasional Tables (northwest wall between the Lobby Seating)

  • Catalog à Carpets à Snowy Area Rug (northwest room)

  • Catalog à Office à Neda Cherry Desk with Cherry Chair_600 (southwest wall)

  • Catalog à Trees and Plants à Indoor Plants à Philodendron (northwest wall and southwest area)

  • Catalog à Beds à Clinton 8870 Family Practice Exam Table to rooms indicated in drawing

  • Catalog à Furniture à 2- Art of Care Spanned Lobby Seating (southeast room)

  • Catalog à Furniture à 2- Art of Care Occasional Tables (southeast room)

  • Catalog à Appliances à 2- Selectivend Combo Snack and Drink Vending Machine (southeast room)

  • Catalog à Tress and Plants à Spider Indoor Plant (southeast room)

  • Catalog à Bathroom à 2- Patient Care Module (southeast rooms)

  • Catalog à Office à 2- Oreo 4- Four-Drawer Office Storage (south-central rooms)

  • Catalog à Office à 2- Bookshelf (south-central rooms)

Part 3: Copying Your Design URL
In order to submit your design to your instructor, you will need to complete the following steps:
1.     Click on the “Share” icon on the top right side of the toolbar.
a.     If you have not saved your design, you will be prompted to do so.

Option 1:
2.     A new window will open with “Email a Friend”.
a.     Right-click on the URL under the title of your design.
b.     Click Copy Link Address
c.     Paste at the bottom of this assignment.
 

 
Option 2:
3.     A new window will open with “Email a Friend”.
a.     Click on the URL, it will open in a new window.
 
       
b.     In the separate tab, you will need to copy the URL provided and paste at the bottom of this assignment.
