Bodoni Classic

I became interested in designing Bodoni Classic because of a lazy graphic designer at a publishing house. He had to change a single letter on the J. B. BODONI bookcover. The French call him Jean Baptiste instead of Giambattista! And that unknown graphic designer just took a “J” from some newly cut Bodoni. All the new Bodoni cuts had square serifs, whereas the originals had rounded serifs and slightly concave feet. This letter “J” with the squared off serifs was my road sign for redesigning the entire Bodoni family. I started in 1993 and finished a dozen years later. Okay, I am still adding my personal additions! I am offering my legendary-true-to-the-original Bodonis in 5 cuts (OTF-fonts) for a friendly price.
