Catalog of the Most-Loved Places V89 Belgravia - Mews & Grosvenor Crescent
This volume of the Catalog of the Most-Loved Places contains a number of mews and crescents in and around London's fabulous Belgravia, including Belgrave Mews West, Buckingham Place, Capener's Close, Chesham Mews, Duplex Ride, Eaton Mews North, Edbury Mews East, Frederic Mews, Grosvenor Crescent, Grosvenor Crescent Mews, Grosvenor Gardens Mews East, and Grosvenor Gardens Mews South. I was in London that November to speak for the first time at the Prince's Foundation; the conference was entitled "Can Traditional Architecture and Urbanism be Green?" I presented a very early version of what would become the Original Green book nearly four years later. Before and afterward, I sandwiched in as much shooting as I could, capturing the images here and in Volume 90. I regard London's mews courts as the world's best, and we should be building mews throughout the United States, as they are a great building type for many parts of the American housing market. London's crescents, along with those of Bath (Volumes 41-46), are the best you'll find anywhere, and provide the most elegant settings for homes that are actually highly efficient. We need to learn to build crescents elsewhere as well; it's much easier than one might imagine. These images are 10 megapixels (3,872 x 2,592 pixels) and this volume contains approximately 360 images. It is available for download once you have purchased it.
