ECON300-Current Event #4

A recent topic of intense speculation has been the Greek debt crisis and it’s affect on the US economy, more specifically, the stock market. Currently, the Greek EU markets have been suffering under an immense amount of debt, and the effects are beginning to transfer to our economy. This past weekend Greek leaders were unable to reach a debt-relief agreement; as a result, the DOW index fell 100 points. While this isn’t a substantial decrease, it is a sign that until a plan is formed and action is taken, our economy will likely continue to be affected. Similarly, world markets are suffering as well as both European and Asian markets continued to drop through the afternoon
