PHL 458 Week 3 Individual Assignment Refining Solutions Visual Organizer 5

In a previous assignment (Problem Journal) I had identified a real world problem and gone through a creative problem solving exercise.  In this visual organizer assignment, I explore using a visual approach to gaining insight into the problem, the root causes, and the potential solutions.

I followed a visual mind mapping process.  I started with an oval in the center that represented the problem. I then drew a red oval off of it for causes.  I articulated each cause with another red oval.  I then turned to solutions and created a green oval for solutions, then articulated each solution with another green oval.  I then drew black lines between each cause, which helped to explore how causes were related to one another.  Similarly, I drew black lines between each solution.  I then created additional detail for each solution around exactly what the benefits, pros, and cons of each are. Finally, I drew blue dotted lines between each solution and the problem or root cause it was addressing.  In this way I could see that every root cause was being addressed.
