Sometimes it is difficult to evaluate yourself and determine what your traits are. When starting to decide on what style I am for this paper, I found it was relatively easy for me after reading the chapters on the various styles. What I consider my own leadership style is servant-leadership.
Servant-leadership focuses on increased service to others rather than to oneself (Kinicki & Kreitner 2009, p. 365). For many years before I was even in management for jobs or personal like this is something that has always been a part of my life. This stems from people who have influenced me growing up. My mother and father both worked in an industry that was working for others. Early on in life, I was very active helping others as well. I did it with my family and individually.
