For this assessment, submit a research analysis and a presentation based on the scenario below:

The Scenario: Assume you have been tasked with conducting primary research so that you can gather the information necessary to create a new program to offer therapy dogs for patients. You will be presenting your findings and an analysis to the hospital's executive management team in the form of a PowerPoint presentaion that is accompanied by a written analysis designed to be read by management after your formal presentation.

Use the Capella library and the Internet to research the hospitals in your geographic area. Select one of these hospitals to use for this assessment.

Then, write an analysis relating to the primary research for the scenario above by addressing the questions below:

  • What would be the advantages/disadvantages of using an observation study for the hospital you identified?

  • When designing an observation study, what would you look for?

  • What ethical issues should be considered in hospital studies?

  • How could you develop a focus group discussion guide?

  • What topics should be included?

  • What exercises could be used during the focus group?

  • How would the telephone survey method work for gathering information?

  • Would you develop a questionnaire to use in conducting the telephone interview?

  • What screening criteria could you implement?
