Hampton, Ashley Week 1 Nuclear bomb vs terrorist Attack

Living with the threat of a nuclear war had to be terrifying for children. One didn’t have to worry about just their immediate area being hit, but the fallout afterward can affect large areas. For there to be cartoons shown to children and adults they must have felt that the threat was imminent, this could cause mass hysteria. I can’t imagine having bomb drills in school, like we now have fire and tornado drills. It seemed to be the norm at schools to have bomb drills.

The threat of terrorism is scary. You never know when it will or where this could happen. Terrorist don’t only target on area, so this makes it a little scarier because we must always have to be on alert. We could be on a plane, running in a marathon, or just driving in our car. We cannot exactly just duck and cover to help save ourselves. Sometimes like on 9/11 we don’t have a choice, but to accept our fate.  At least with an atomic bomb there was a warning system, even if it does not guarantee that it will always be able to gibe warning it is better than no warning at all. With terrorism there is usually no warning. I think that it is worse to not know that it is coming. If you know there is a bomb about to hit you can take cover. Videos like this though seem as if they could cause severe fear in children, and possible cause them to constantly duck and cover because they are constantly thinking the bomb will hit eventually. This seems to frighten more than it helps.  Both are scary, but I fear the unknown more so I would have to say that the threat of a terrorist attack is far worse.
