AED201 History of American Education

I think that the one event that has shaped today’s classroom is the No Child Left Behind Act. This event gave parents more school choices and also placed a greater emphasis on reading in schools. It also was written so that all students including special education students and students from disadvantaged backgrounds in the same school have to reach the same set of state standards in math and reading my 2014. This event is still reflected in today’s classroom by all students are still held to the same standards and teachers make most of their classroom curriculum based around these tests.
