As you requested I have comprised a draft memo regarding the city’s compliance to the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA).  I will also provide you with my professional recommendation to our responsibilities to comply with the CIPA.  References will be provided for your behalf to access the compliance to the CIPA.

The history of the CIPA is that it was passed by Congress in 2000 for the purpose of protection children from viewing obscene or objectionable material on school or library computers.  The access of websites which are harmful to minors that is unwholesome in sexual, nudity, or excretion.  The depiction or visual aspects of sexual acts, contacts, and male/female reproductive parts used in inappropriate nature that is not suitable to minors.  This is the basis to the CIPA to protect minors from using public computer to view inappropriate websites.
