WEB 236 Week 4 DQ 1

When reading the article by Becker and Nelson (2010), the first thing that caught my attention was actually the first sentence, "When potential customers hit your website, you have just a few seconds to capture interest." That could not be any truer; I have lost interest too many times to count simple because my attention was not grabbed and I couldn't find what I was looking for. The article suggested seven tips to help turn ""traffic" into customers".
1. View - Use headlines, bold type and key words to grab attention, users read websites differently than article and text.
2. Key Placement - Place the essential content in the upper left-hand corner as that is where most visitors begin looking.
3. Straight to the Point - Start with the most important messages first, and have links that get to the details.
4. Simple Language - Don't make the users have to use a dictionary to read your content.
5. Simple Design - Don't overdo your design or navigation, make it easy for your users to find what they need to, they already visited to your site.
