Consider the following scenario:

Management of Kanta Manta are concerned about hours worked and believe that there may be a potential correlation between job performance and marital status affecting the hours worked. Management has engaged you to analyze data to confirm or dispute the assertion.

The Employment Data Excel file and the Code Book for Employment Data document, both linked in the Resources under the Capella Resources heading, provide data on several variables of over 500 employees. Use these documents to complete this assessment.

Follow the steps below to conduct the analysis to predict employee job performance:

  1. Develop a research question for the problem.

  2. Formulate hypotheses statements for the main effects (job performance and marital status) and their interaction.

  3. Conduct factorial analysis—that is, two-way ANOVA—to examine the effect of job performance and marital status on hours work.

Report your results using the Management Report Template linked in the Resources under the Capella Resources heading. Assume your audience for this report to be members of organizational leadership who have no background in statistics. Use the template as a guideline for structuring your management report in a way that could be easily understood by most business professionals.
