1812 Overture, composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, scored for trombone septet by Kyle Peck, trombonist in The United States Army Band, “Pershing’s Own”. As a slightly reduced, 9-minute version of the full 1812 Overture, this arrangement is tailored to be played by trombonists in a way that captures the warmth of the opening cello choir just as well as the triumphal finish.
