This tune was written as a gift for my Uncle Jimmy and Auntie Florrie’s Ruby Wedding Anniversary in 2007. Skerryholm is the name of their house on Fair Isle. My uncle took over from my Grandfather as skipper of the mail boat ‘Good Shepherd’ for many years until he retired. My Auntie was a great strong character and oversaw much of Fair Isle’s comings and goings as well as being one of many people on the Isle knitting with the traditional Fair Isle patterns.
I may be biased, but it has to be one of the most beautiful of the Shetland Islands.
