Alistair’s Vintage Bar - Chris Stout & Finlay MacDonald
Alistair Blackie of Stichill in the Scottish Borders is the landlord of his very own vintage bar – a room in his house full of wonderful memorabilia set aside for the sole purpose of musical gatherings! Piper Finlay MacDonald, myself and countless others have spent many a fine evening there with Alister and his great piano wizard neighbour Harris Playfair.
On one occasion Alister (who was in his early eighties at the time) announced at 05:30 in the morning, when the room was literally spinning with music and excitement, that the evening was likely to be “...a good nicht yit...”
His stamina and enthusiasm for music and life is an inspiration to us all.
