(This waltz was composed as a gift for my mother
Maureen McKay when she retired in 2012 after 45 years
as a ballet teacher in Dundee, Scotland.
I was imagining her reaching out her beautiful arms exploring the space,
losing herself in the spirit of dance, spinning round to whip up the energy in the airwaves,
concluding with a graceful curtsy to give thanks for the gift of movement.
