Arizona Unit 22 is often overlooked as a quality Elk unit. Every year hunters that are willing to work hard and do their pre-hunt scouting take home trophy Elk out of this unit. The unit habitat type varies greatly. From thick Ponderosa forest on the north side to near desert on the south side. Most of these areas hold Elk to some degree. If there is a decent amount of snow, the Elk will move to the lower elevations, which means South.
